The Korean Boy Band SEVENTEEN Will Be Appointed as UNESCO’s First-Ever Goodwill Ambassador for Youth Among K-pop Artists

The Korean boy group SEVENTEEN will be appointed as UNESCO’s first-ever Goodwill Ambassador for Youth among K-pop artists.

According to SEVENTEEN’s agency, Pledis Entertainment, SEVENTEEN is the first K-pop artist to be officially appointed as a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, and this is also the first time UNESCO has appointed a youth goodwill ambassador.

SEVENTEEN and UNESCO have been working together to raise awareness about the importance of education through the #GoingTogether campaign. Through this campaign, two community learning centers have been built in Timor-Leste, and educational support has been provided to Malawi. SEVENTEEN will attend the youth ambassador appointment ceremony at UNESCO headquarters in Paris on June 26, 2024.
