4 Places You Can Buy Daily Necessities in Korea

Whether you’re traveling or living in Korea, there can be times when you need daily necessities, but don’t know where to buy them. They are usually very small things, such as a bracket or a curtain pole, and it is somewhat difficult to specify where to buy them.

In that case, you can try visiting these places we recommend on the next slides!

1. emart / Homeplus / LOTTE Mart

They are the three biggest offline supermarkets in Korea, similar to Walmart and Target in the United States. Groceries, daily necessities, clothing, electronics… You can find almost everything in these supermarkets.

2. DAISO

It’s the cheapest store in Korea. All the products cost under 10,000KRW (8USD). There’s nothing you can’t find in DAISO. It’s a must-visit place for people moving out. It’s also fun to hang out in the store because they do a lot of design collaborations with famous brands, such as Disney.

3. Alpha Stationery

The store has all kinds of stationery. Students get school supplies and workers get office supplies. Some branches offer printing services as well.

4. Convenience Stores

There are a total of 5 convenience stores in Korea: CU, GS25, 7-Eleven, MINISTOP, emart24. You can do a lot more than buy daily necessities in these stores. Getting coffee, buying painkillers, eating snacks, charging a bus card (Tmoney), sending parcels are all available!
