5 Exhibitions Worth Seeing in Busan in July 2024

South Korea is experiencing a scorching heatwave. If you‘re traveling in Busan, how about spending the hot daytime indoors? We have selected five exhibitions worth visiting.

1. KEYKNEY SOLO EXHIBITION

17 June 1 – September 22, 2024
1191, Nakdongnam-ro, Saha-gu, Busan, South Kore

KEYKNEY is a famous Korean illustrator. You can enjoy his one-cut comics, illustrations, and installations.
He became well-known for his “Drawing Anything” one-cut comics, where he receives stories from followers on Instagram and responds with illustrations.
As he draws stories about life, he has a wide fan base ranging from teenagers to people in their 60s and older.

2. ANONYMOUS PROJECT BUSAN

7 May 1 – September 22, 2024
1 39, Seomyeon-ro, Busanjin-gu, Busan, South Korea

It is a vintage film photography exhibition where photos with stories are selected and developed from abandoned films taken by various people, and then gathered by theme.

3. DORAEMON EXHIBITION IN BUSAN

17 June 11 – August 31, 2024
1180, Haeyang-ro 195beon-gil, Yeongdo-gu, Busan, South Korea

Doraemon is a Japanese children’s science fiction manga. It has been published in Korea since 1995 and is very popular among Korean fans as well. There is also a photo zone where you can take pictures with the adorable Doraemon, so if you’re a comic fan, be sure to visit here!

4. HEXAGONAL MEN

17 March 21 – October 13, 2024
1 2nd Floor, 58, Dongcheon-ro, Busanjin-gu, Busan, South Korea

“Hexagonal Man” is an interesting and controversial Korean meme in many ways. It represents ‘perfection’ with a graph of six axes (appearance, personality, education, wealth, job, and family background), where all criteria are fully filled. If someone is referred to as a “Hexagonal Man,” it means he has all these qualities. This exhibition, aligned with the six themes, allows direct participation in works, communication, and empathy. It is an experiential exhibition that helps you understand yourself more deeply.

5. SIGNS OF LOSS

7 June 10 – August 31, 2024
20, Centum seo-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan, South Korea

An exhibition showcasing spectacular media art displayed on a massive 6000-inch LED panel, where you can also view a variety of other art pieces. With the participation of 18 prominent contemporary artists from both Korea and abroad, you can enjoy a diverse range of art genres, including media, installations, video, painting, and photography.
