5 Pop-up Stores Worth Visiting in Seoul in May, 2024

Seoul is experiencing a golden age of pop-up stores. These pop-ups, which run from as short as two weeks to as long as three months, often attract long lines of eager visitors. It’s a great opportunity to catch the latest city trends. Seongsu-dong, in particular, hosts numerous pop-ups. If you’re traveling nearby or passing through, be sure to check out these pop-ups in May.

1. HOKA ‘FlyLab’ Pop-up

A pop-store where you can directly experience the global premium sports brand HOKA is opening, allowing visitors to explore the brand’s history. You can also undergo a ‘SafeSize’ fitting, which measures your individual foot shape and size in 3D, and then try on demo shoes.

2. RSVP: Invitation to Great Expectations

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the DDP, the Seoul Design Foundation, in collaboration with the E-Land Museum, is hosting an exhibition and pop-up store titled “<RSVP: Invitation to Great Expectations>.” This event marks the first local showcase of collections from 21 global fashion designers. The exhibition will feature 87 pieces that transcend time and defy conventional expectations, much like the innovative design of the DDP’s architect, Zaha Hadid.

3. SATUR The T-shirt Shop Pop-up Store

Satur is a clothing brand that started in Seoul in 2020 with the slogan “Gift a Saturday.” Satur has prepared a pop-up store where you can enjoy a variety of graphic T-shirts, as well as a space for those looking for basic items, along with refreshing slushies and desserts.

4. Demi Soda Pop-Up Store

Demisoda, a beloved Korean natural fruit juice beverage since its launch in 1991, is unveiling a new design for the first time in 16 years at this pop-up brand store. Visitors can enjoy various interactive events targeting young adults in their 20s, including tasting sessions, photo zones, and keychain-making activities.

5. Derma Factory

The derma cosmetic brand Dermafactory has created a pop-up store with a FACTORY concept, showcasing the five key ingredients for hydration, whitening, elasticity, and soothing through 3D molecular models. This immersive experience space allows visitors to engage with the products more vividly. Additionally, visitors can get an exclusive preview of new products, which are officially released on the 15th of each month, starting from the 1st.
