This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Armed Forces, and a parade was held on September 26th.
“It was the blood and sweat of our soldiers who defended the Republic of Korea against North Korea’s constant provocations. Thanks to them, we have been able to achieve liberal democracy and economic development. We will continue to provide generous support for better service conditions for our soldiers and take the lead in ensuring that all those who have served our country are proud and honored,”said Rep. Kang Min-kuk, a senior party spokesperson.

2. October 1, 1950, was the day the South Korean army broke through the 38th parallel after counterattacking North Korean communist forces invading the South and was designated as Armed Forces Day to preserve this significance
3. Established in 1956 to combine Air Force Day (October 1), Army Day (October 2), and Navy Day (November 11) into one day
