Autumn is the season of festivals. Team UoH has gathered some festivals to enjoy in Seoul in fall 2024.
<September 28, 2024>
This festival takes place in Sinwol-dong and features performances by various musicians spanning genres like rock, hip-hop, indie rock, metal, and electronic music. Attendees can enjoy the shows from standing zones or picnic zones, with free admission available for the first 4,000 visitors on a first-come, first-served basis.
<September 28 – November 2, 2024>
At Ttukseom Hangang Park, 1,000 drones will illuminate the night sky, blending technology and art to capture Seoul’s unique spirit. The show runs five times from September 21 to November 2, with performances on September 28, October 4, 9, 26, and November 2, starting at 8 PM for 15 minutes. This event offers more than a drone display—it’s a captivating fusion of light and music that creates a mesmerizing art experience.

The Seoul Fireworks Festival will be held at Yeouido Hangang Park. Hanwha’s renowned “Multimedia Fireworks Show” combines fireworks, music, and laser effects to create the best display in Asia. Every year, top fireworks companies from around the world participate, lighting up the night sky over Yeouido. Enjoy the spectacular fireworks show by South Korea, Japan, and the United States on a clear autumn evening, along with various daytime events!

Marking its 13th edition, this influential indie music festival will be held at venues like Veloso and Musinsa Garage in Hongdae. It features live performances by a diverse lineup of domestic and international musicians. Tickets can be purchased through Interpark Ticket.

This festival aims to establish Sinchon’s image as a youthful and global university town, celebrating the “global” and “university culture” identities. It’s a gathering space for local residents, university students, and international students, featuring a parade on Yonsei-ro, global booths, and various cultural events and experiences.

Over three days at Nodeul Island, this festival offers music performances with a unique theme each day. On Friday, unwind from work stress with a relaxing set; Saturday is perfect for friends and couples seeking a special experience; and Sunday invites families to enjoy music together while taking in the scenic views of Nodeul Island.

This classical ballet festival on Hangang’s Nodeul Island will feature a performance of “Sleeping Beauty,” one of Tchaikovsky’s iconic ballets. The event will showcase collaborative performances by renowned Korean artists active worldwide, promising a moving experience. Tickets can be purchased through Interpark Ticket.
<October 19 – October 20, 2024>
As part of the “2024 Hangang Nodeul Island Classic” opera festival, a full performance of “Carmen,” one of the world’s top three operas, will be staged. Directed by Kim Sook-young and conducted by Kim Kwang-hyun, the performance will feature a stellar cast including Jeong Ju-yeon, John Noh, Kim Shin-hye, Escamillo, and Jeong Seung-gi. This festival, themed around the Goryeo Dynasty and General Gang Gam-chan, offers a variety of programs including traditional cultural performances, the Gwanak Parade 21, and a spectacular firework and drone show. Set against the backdrop of the general’s cultural heritage, the festival features diverse programs reflecting our contemporary interpretation of his legacy.
