A Cafe to Enjoy Bread and Coffee After A Walk Around the Blue House: ‘Respirer’

📍Respirer(레스피레)
🗺️40-7, Hyoja-ro 13-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Korea
🕔Everyday 9AM – 9PM

The cafe is located about 13 minutes from Gyeongbokgung Station’s Exit #3. It is located near the Cheongwadae (Blue House) Sarangchae.

I visited this place because I missed the beignets I had tasted in New Orleans, USA. Beignet is a type of deep-fried pastry. Besides beignets, this place has a variety of breads, including salt bread, castella salt bread, and butter salt bread. The sweet potato castella salt bread is a popular menu item.

It was quite crowded and loud inside during the weekend. You could hear the coffee being brewed and people talking, so it’s great for people-watching. The tables are quite large, so there were people working or reading. It’s a good place to stop by if you’re hungry before or after visiting the Blue House.
