A Great Spot to Enjoy Dakbokkeumtang at a Street Food Stall in Seoul

Hey UoH friends, hope you are doing well. Let me introduce a street food stall that my friends and I visited yesterday.

“Pojangmacha(포장마차)” refers to tent-like restaurants or stalls selling various street foods in Korea. They’ve become quite rare these days, but I really enjoy the ambiance they offer—it’s nostalgic yet distinctly Korean.

The most famous dish here is dakbokkeumtang(닭볶음탕), a spicy stir-fried chicken dish with potatoes and various vegetables. It’s simmered to perfection, offering a warm and hearty meal. The longer it simmers, the richer the broth becomes, enhancing the flavor. Oh, don’t forget to add rice balls.

They also offer other dishes like janchi guksu (banquet noodles) and jeon (Korean pancakes), but we were too full to try them.

Pairing these dishes with makgeolli (Korean rice wine), soju, or beer would complement the flavors perfectly. It’s a true local gem!
