This exhibition is organized and presented by Johyun Gallery, the leading gallery that mounts 10 exhibitions per year across two different locations in Busan, Korea.
The exhibition is to celebrate Korean culture and heritage.
Origin, Emergence, Return
The exhibition name is Origin, Emergence, Return, and it features over 70 works from three leading Korean artists : Park Seo Bo, Lee Bae, and Jin Meyerson.
Lee Bae’s 26-foot site-specific sculpture of stacked charcoals will be on view at the Channel Gardens.
Origin section by Park Seo Bo
Park Seo-Bo uses Korean traditional papaer hanji, which has been soaked in water for more than two months.

Emergence section by Lee Bae
Lee Bae uses charcoal’s profound black for his abstract forms of work.
“I wanted to discover this material—which isn’t very expensive or fragile—in my own style, and now it seems charcoal is an integral part of me; there’s an exchange between me and this material that is symbolic with my culture.” (2022)
Return section by Jin Meyerson
Jin Meyerson, an artist adopted by a US family, focuses on computer graphics and augmented reality.
