A Seoul’s Newly Opened Hotel With the Fascinating History : ROKAUS Hotel Seoul Yongsan

Introducing the Nine Tree Premier ROKAUS Hotel, a 4-Star Hotel 🇰🇷

It is a 2-minute walk from Yongsan Station and very close to attractions such as National Museum of Korea, War Memorial, and Namsan. The hotel was launched in April 2023. It ranges from 6 floors below ground to 31 floors above ground, with a total of 274 rooms, an indoor pool, an executive lounge, a deli and cafe, and meeting rooms. 🏢

This Hotel Was A Former Korean Army Warrior’s House

What makes this hotel interesting to the UoH team is that it’s a modernized version of a former army “용사의 집 (warrior’s house).” 🪖 The “warrior’s house” was a stopover for soldiers, and Korean soldiers who were deployed from the Nonsan Training Center would go through the warrior’s house on their way to their forward units. Soldiers going on leave to various parts of the country and soldiers returning to their units also had to pass through Yongsan Station for trains, and they used to stay and rest for a while at this place. Therefore, the hotel provides various benefits to army soldiers and military personnel.

Hotel Name ROKAUS, A Combination of These Words

The hotel name ROKAUS is a combination of the English acronym “ROKA” for the Korean Army and “US” for “us.” It also means a comfortable home for the Korean Army. ⭐️

The Rokaus Hotel continues the tradition of the “House of Heroes,” which has provided precious memories to countless soldiers and their families for half a century. So if you go to the second floor, there is a House of Heroes exhibition center, which is very interesting. Do stop by if you are around 👏🏻😀
