It has been confirmed that approximately 10 North Korean soldiers crossed the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and violated the Military Demarcation Line (MDL). In response, South Korean troops immediately issued warning broadcasts and fired warning shots. The intruding North Korean soldiers subsequently returned to the northern side. Some of the soldiers were reportedly armed with rifles, and they are believed to have advanced up to about 50 meters south of the MDL.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Republic of Korea stated, “We are closely monitoring further movements of the North Korean military and are taking necessary measures in accordance with operational procedures.”A similar incident occurred in June 2024, when a group of North Korean soldiers conducting work inside the central section of the DMZ crossed south of the MDL and returned north after warning broadcasts and warning shots from the South Korean military.
