South Korean men are required to serve in the military, but athletes who win a gold medal during the Asian Games or a medal at the Olympics are exempt from military service.

The South Korea Under-24 National Team won the gold medal at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games with a victory over Japan.

Japan Scored a Goal in the Second Minute of the First Half As Soon As the Game Started

South Korea panicked and struggled to hold on to the lead. But as time went on, Korea regained their composure. Eventually, Korea equalized in the 27th minute. Jung Woo-young scored the equalizer with a header.

With the score tied at 1-1, South Korea came out firing in the second half.

After consistently pounding on the Japanese goal, Korea finally broke through in the 11th minute of the second half.
