BTS member Suga has donated 5 billion KRW (approx. $3.6 million USD) to establish a specialized treatment center at Severance Hospital in Korea, supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder in both medical care and social independence. This generous donation was inspired by his meeting with Professor Cheon Keun-Ah from the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, where he recognized the need for long-term, comprehensive treatment.
The upcoming center will offer a wide range of programs to support the mental health of children and adolescents, including speech, psychological, and behavioral therapy. It will also integrate clinical care and research for more systematic support.
Suga’s contribution marks the largest celebrity donation in the history of Yonsei University Health System, adding even more significance to this act of giving. The initiative is expected to expand into broader therapy programs for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and developmental disabilities.
