Busan vs. Riyadh vs. Rome : For The World Expo 2030

On November 28, The Host Of The ‘2030 World Expo’ Will Be Announced

Excitement in bidding for the ‘2030 World Expo’ is at an all-time high, not only in Busan, but across Korea. Messages such as “BUSAN IS READY,” “HIP KOREA,” and “2030 BUSAN EXPO” are being displayed at major gateways across the country, including Seoul Station, Busan Station, subways, Incheon Airport, Lotte World Tower, and more.

Messages Are Also Appearing In Some Parts Of Europe

For instance, in Paris, France, companies such as LG Electronics and the city of Busan have attached messages wishing to attract the expo to large buses in the form of wraparound advertisements to promote Korea not only in the city center of Paris, such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and the Champs-Élysées, but also on the outskirts.

The Expo Host Is Determined B An Anonymous Vote Of Delegates From The BIE’s 182 Member Countries At The BIE General Assembly

Currently, three cities are in the running to host the 2030 Expo: Busan, South Korea; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; and Rome, Italy. If a city receives more than two-thirds (122 votes) of the first round of voting, the decision will be made immediately, but if not, the first- and second-place finishers will have a runoff vote, with the winner receiving the most votes.
