COVID-19 Guideline, South Korea (2022.5.14 updated)

You no longer need to wear a mask outside when you visit Korea, but only inside! Here is the updated version of Covid-19 guideline you should be aware of before flying to Korea. ✈️

Social Distancing Regulations

You are not required to wear a mask outside.

*Exceptions : you are required to wear a mask when attending
outdoor rallies, performances, or sports events with more than 50 attendees.

You are still required to wear a mask inside.

No regulations on the closing hours anymore.

???? Don’t forget to bring your certificate of negative PCR test result for COVID-19.

– Those who do not hold a certificate of negative PCR test result for COVID-19 shall be restricted from getting on board the aircraft regardless of vaccination status.

– A PCR test needs to be tested within 48 hours prior to departure date.

– A PCR test result needs to be written in Korean or in English. A translation certificate is necessary if written in other languages.

???? Register your information on the Q-CODE system, the pre-entry quarantine information system.

– Complete implementation for travelers arriving at International Airport, with future plans of extending to ports.

Q-CODE system users are not required to submit a health status questionnaire or a special quarantine report.

– Those who have completed vaccinations, yet have not registered their overseas vaccination history with the Korean public health center, will be exempted from quarantine if they use the Q-code to enter quarantine information in advance.

???? Those who have completed vaccinations are exempted from quarantine.

– Definition of individuals who have completed vaccination : those who have received the second vaccination or those who have received the third (booster) vaccination and can verify the immunization history.

– After putting information into the Q-CODE, check vaccination history using the given QR code. Those who have completed overseas vaccination are required to attach a certificate of immunization history to the pre-entry system.

???? Conduct a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) on the sixth or seventh day following the arrival date.

– Do a self-examination or visit medical facilities or screening clinics.

– Entrants aged 60 and over can undergo PCR testing at screening clinics of public health centers.
