Daegu City, South Korea, Starts Operating the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Metropolitan Railway

Daegu Metropolitan City is Launching the Gyeongbuk Metropolitan Railway (Dae-Gyeong Line), Marking the First Metropolitan Railway System Outside the Capital Region

Starting from the morning of December 14, 2024, the first train will operate from Dongdaegu Station to Gumi. The line will run a maximum of 100 round trips per day across all sections, including Gumi, Chilgok, Daegu, and Gyeongsan. Passengers can transfer to the Daegu Metro Line 1 at Dongdaegu Station and Daegu Station.

The base fare is 1,500 KRW, with additional charges depending on distance. The maximum fare from Gumi to Gyeongsan is 2,800 KRW. The city of Daegu plans to offer fare reductions for transportation-vulnerable groups and will also establish a transfer system with city buses and the subway.
