Korean YouTuber With 5.52 Million Subscribers, Daud Kim, Has Announced Plans To Build An Islamic Mosque In Incheon

Korean YouTuber with 5.52 million subscribers, Daud Kim, has announced plans to build an Islamic mosque in Incheon, South Korea, showing the land contract. He stated, “This place will be a place of worship. I plan to build a space for prayer and an Islamic podcast studio to spread Islam to Koreans. I will do my best until every street in Korea is filled with the beautiful Adhan.” The jurisdictional local authority, Incheon Jung-gu Office, stated, “Currently, there is no way to disallow the construction of religious facilities under existing laws.”

Meanwhile, Daud Kim was previously accused of attempting to rape a foreign woman he met through a dating app in 2020. He apologized to the victim, who expressed no desire for prosecution, resulting in a suspended sentence. He admitted the attempted rape through his YouTube channel, saying, “The accusation was true, and the verdict was fair. After this incident, I decided to become a better person by converting to Islam. I sincerely repented to Allah, believing that I could be forgiven if I repented earnestly.”

In addition, Daud Kim faces criticism within the Korean community. Despite claiming to build a mosque for Korean Islamic missions, many criticize him for not having any Korean content on his account, alleging it to be a business tactic to garner support from foreigners.
