The year, 2024, is a leap year, which means that there are 366 days in a year. A leap year is a year with 29 days in February and occurs every four years.
The first is the Lunar New Year holiday in the February, which gives people four days off from Friday, the 9th, through Saturday, the 10th, which is New Year’s Day, and Monday, the 12th, which is an alternative holiday.
The longest holiday is Chuseok, which gives people a total of five days off from Saturday, September 14 to Wednesday, September 18. If people add the days off on September 19 and 20, people will have a whopping nine days off.
March 1, the Independence Movement Day, falls on a Friday, and May 6, the Children’s Day alternative holiday, falls on a Monday.
Memorial Day (June 6), Independence Day (August 15), and National Foundation Day (October 3), all fall on Thursdays. There’s also a temporary holiday on Wednesday, April 10, for the 22nd National Assembly Election. On the other hand, there are no holidays at all in July and November 2024.
