Do You Know The “Do You Know Club” in Korea?

Before BTS performed at the Grammys and Korean food received worldwide attention, Koreans, especially Korean journalists, were curious about how much people from other countries know about Korea and its culture.

Andrew Garfield saying, “I love Korea. I also like Korean food. I like Bibimbap and Korean culture.”

Whenever Korean journalists and reporters had a chance to interview someone famous from other countries, they asked something like, “Do you know (something or someone famous from Korea)?” It was a question to see if one had ever heard anything about Korea.

A parody about the “Do You Know Club” by SNL Korea. ????
The reporter is asking, “Do you know ‘Gangnam style’?”

But the funny thing was that these questions were too random and irrelevant for the interviews. That’s when the “Do You Know Club” was created as a sarcastic joke among Koreans. But as Korean culture has become famous around the world, the club is nowadays recognized as a “Hall of Fame.”
