Dubai Chocolate Is Gaining Popularity In Korea, Leading To Its Launch In Various Convenience Stores

The rise in popularity of Dubai chocolate began late last year when Maria, a famous influencer from the United Arab Emirates, posted a video of herself eating the chocolate on social media. The video has now surpassed 65 million views. The original Dubai chocolate is made by the company FIX Dessert Chocolatier in Dubai, UAE. Due to its growing popularity, it has become difficult to find even locally. The chocolate is known for containing pistachio spread and kadayıf (thin noodles enjoyed in the Middle East).

In Korea, the initial stock of Dubai chocolate at CU convenience stores sold out within a day of its release, leading to it being resold online for nearly double the price. However, in Korea, due to the difficulty in sourcing kadayıf, the chocolate is made with local dried noodles and pistachio powder to maintain its crunchy texture. Meanwhile, the original Dubai chocolate by FIX Dessert Chocolatier is set to be officially imported and available in Korea starting from October this year.
