Duty-Free Alcohol Import Limit: How Many Bottles Can You Bring to Korea?

The limit on the number of bottles of alcohol that can be brought into Korea duty-free will be removed in the first quarter of 2025. However, the existing standards of ”2L/within $400“ will remain in place. This change is expected to alleviate inconveniences for travelers bringing back miniature bottles of liquor or canned beer from abroad. Additionally, duty-free store licensing fees will be reduced by 50%.

Currently, travelers returning to Korea can enjoy duty-free benefits for alcohol within the limits of 2 liters and $400, with a maximum of 2 bottles. The Korean government plans to eliminate the ”maximum of 2 bottles“ restriction. Once the new rule is implemented, travelers will be able to bring in up to six 330ml cans of beer without paying taxes. This move is expected to expand consumer choices.
