Fetal Sex Can Now Be Determined Before 32 Weeks in South Korea

In South Korea, It Is Now Possible to Determine the Sex of A Fetus Before 32 Weeks of Pregnancy

This change follows the repeal of the ”Fetal Sex Determination Ban,“ which had prohibited medical professionals from disclosing a fetus’s sex to expectant mothers before 32 weeks of pregnancy.

The Korean Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology stated, ”Allowing fetal sex determination only after 32 weeks is practically equivalent to prohibiting it altogether and infringes on the basic rights of parents. We welcome the immediate enforcement of the revised Medical Services Act.“
