The film “Smugglers” wins five awards at the 44th Blue Dragon Film Festival, including Best Picture.
Lee Byung-hun from the movie “Concrete Utopia” won Best Actor, while the Best Actress award went to Jung Yu-mi from the movie “Sleep.”
Best Supporting Actor went to Jo In-sung for “Smugglers,” Best Supporting Actress to Jeon Yeobeen for “Cobweb,” and Best Screenplay to Jung Ju-ri for “Next Sohee.”
At the 44th Blue Dragon Film Festival, Kim Hye-soo said goodbye for the last time. She was known as the “Lady of the Blue Dragon” for 30 years, starting with the 14th award in 1993. Actor Jung Woo-sung handed over the trophy engraved with the Blue Dragon Film Award to Kim Hye-soo.
Jung Woo-sung said, “It’s like saying goodbye to a longtime lover. Thanks to the support and comfort that Kim Hye-soo has given to filmmakers, the Blue Dragon Film Award is possible today. It was a time when the Blue Dragon Film Award was Kim Hye-soo, and Kim Hye-soo was the Blue Dragon Film Award.”
Kim Hye-soo said, “Through the past 30 Blue Dragon Film Awards, I have learned the true solidarity of filmmakers. I learned respect for actors and people in the film industry on this stage. I am grateful that the Blue Dragon Film Award was present in my life.”
