Five bars from South Korea have made the list of Asia‘s 50 Best Bars for 2024, all located in Seoul. As the weather gets colder, why not warm up with a creative cocktail crafted by Seoul-based bartenders?

1. ZEST (제스트)

Founded by the always-energetic Dohyung ‘Demie’ Kim—previously from Alice in Cheongdam and recipient of the Altos Bartenders’ Bartender Award 2024—along with prominent Korean bar industry figures Sean Woo, Jisu Park, and Noah Kwon, it has been named Korea’s Best Bar for the second consecutive year.

It’s an excellent bar offering everything from signature cocktails to classic drinks, with exceptional bartenders. Known for crafting cocktails with local ingredients and recognized for its commitment to sustainable operations.

2. BAR CHAM (바참)

Operated by Byung-Jin ‘BJ’ Lim and his dynamic team members, this place stands out for their unique, friendly, and vibrant energy. It is located in a traditional hanok in Seochon, this bar offers a unique and atmospheric experience, enriched with Korean aesthetics and architectural elements. Each cocktail on the menu has its own story and distinct flavor, making it an ideal recommendation for those seeking a special experience in Seoul. It’s also a great spot to enjoy cocktails made with traditional Korean spirits as a base.

3. ALICE (앨리스)

The charismatic Terry Kim, along with co-head bartenders Mason Park and Leo Kim, lead the bar with skill and flair. This enchanting cocktail bar evokes the feeling of being in a fairytale, reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland, with its unique and creative concept and impressive cocktail presentations.

4. Le Chamber (르챔버)

Step through the secret door hidden within the bookshelf to enter this speakeasy bar, a pioneer of the speakeasy scene in Korea. While the age of the bar shows in its worn and weathered corners, it remains a vibrant and iconic establishment in Seoul.

5. Pine & Co (파인앤코)
