Incheon Airport to provide free transportation cards to foreign tourists visiting South Korea

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has announced that it will hold a two-day event at Incheon International Airport on September 23 and 24, 2023, to provide free transportation cards worth 5,000 won engraved with Korean names to foreign tourists visiting South Korea.

It is to celebrate the ‘2023-2024 Visit Korea Year’

The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, LOCA Mobility and Incheon International Airport Corporation to celebrate the ‘2023-2024 Visit Korea Year’ and to inform foreign visitors about the ‘2023 Hangeul Week.’

All foreign tourists can receive a free LOCA mobility transportation card with a Korean name printed on it by answering a survey on ‘Korean tourism preferences’ through a dedicated unmanned machine installed in the lobby of the airport transportation center.

The free transportation cards will be available to 500 people over two days on a first-come, first-served basis and may run out early.

In addition, the transportation card packaging includes tourist information about the Blue House, a Korean cultural destination; Hiker Ground, a multicultural space, and Vivid Space; a new technology convergence content experience space at Incheon International Airport.

We organized this event to add to the enjoyment of visiting Korea for foreign tourists by incorporating Hangeul, which has become popular due to the global Korean Wave, into transportation cards that will be useful for tourists in Korea,” said Kang Jeong-won, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
