The Hankyoreh, the progressive newspaper in South Korea, has recently launched the “Newspaper Picnic Mat Campaign” to raise awareness about environmental issues. People can pick these up for free in Han River parks.

????️What is this campaign about?
✅ Hankyoreh recycled 40 discarded plastic bottles to create a newspaper-style picnic mat. The articles on the picnic mat are all about environmental news. They distribted these picnic mats to places where there is a lot of trash, like Han River parks, so people can read articles about the environment while resting.

????️What material are these picnic blankets?
✅ They are made of waste plastic fabric “Platex”, made of 40 500 ml-sized plastic bottles in Korea. This is the first time using 100% recylced fabric of waste plastic in Korea.
