Gyeongbokgung Palace Wall In Seoul Defaced With Spray Graffiti

According to the Jongno Police Station on December 16, 2023, a report came in at 2:20 a.m. that a wall on the west side of Gyeongbokgung Palace in the direction of the National Palace Museum was spray-painted with graffiti. In red and blue spray paint, the phrase “free movie” was repeatedly written in large letters, along with phrases reminiscent of illegal video sharing sites.

The police are tracking down the suspects based on nearby closed-circuit television footage and are considering whether they can be charged with violating the Cultural Property Protection Act.
