Heavy rain has been pouring in the greater Seoul metropolitan area, including Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi Province, since Monday (August 8), causing flooding and other severe damage. It was the heaviest rain in 80 years.

As a consequence, at least 7 people have died and 6 people have gone missing. Insurance companies are receiving thousands of vehicle damage calls. Several subway stations closed down temporarily.

Abandoned cars from last night’s heavy rain are causing traffic on Tuesday morning. Another heavy rain is expected tonight.
