South Korean Politician Lee Jae-myung Was Attacked This Morning While Visiting The Site Of Busan’s New Airport

Lee Jae-myung was answering questions from reporters when an unidentified man (believed to be in his 60s or 70s) attacked him on the left side of his neck and left him bleeding. The assailant was wearing a crown that said, “I am Lee Jae-myung”. After receiving first aid at the scene for about 13 minutes, Lee was transferred to an ambulance at 10:46 a.m. and taken directly to Busan National University Hospital.

According to Democratic Party officials, Lee Is Currently Conscious And Is Not In Critical Condition

At Busan National University Hospital, Democratic Party officials are gathering one after another after hearing the news. The man who attacked Lee has been detained by police and is being investigated, but he is remaining silent.

Han Dong-hoon, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Korea, serving in the administration of President Yoon Suk-yeol, said that the attack should never have happened in South Korean society and that a strict and swift investigation must be conducted to prevent it from happening again.
