The assailant was wearing a crown that said, “I am Lee Jae-myung”. After receiving first aid at the scene for about 13 minutes, Lee was transferred to an ambulance at 10:46 a.m. and taken directly to Busan National University Hospital.
At Busan National University Hospital, Democratic Party officials are gathering one after another after hearing the news. The man who attacked Lee has been detained by police and is being investigated, but he is remaining silent.
Han Dong-hoon, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Korea, serving in the administration of President Yoon Suk-yeol, said that the attack should never have happened in South Korean society and that a strict and swift investigation must be conducted to prevent it from happening again.
