On September 9, Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, a ChatGPT developer of generative artificial intelligence (AI), visited Korea to participate ‘K-Startups Meet OpenAI.’
He stated that he’s willing to work with Korean businesses and was particularly interested in deep-tech firms.
CEO Altman stated, “Korea has the highest Internet penetration rate and technology, as well as software and hardware that cannot be seen in other places,” during a meeting with Minister of SMEs and domestic startups.
He said “I know Korean startups are excellent. I am particularly interested in deep-tech companies and want to talk with them. I believe it is the prime time for entrepreneurship.”
CEO Altman added, “We are working together with the Japanese office, and we wish to collaborate with Korea in future. In terms of locations, I am seeing offices all over the globe, but I want to learn more about Korea as a whole.”
