Four Major Korean Entertainment Agencies
SM Entertainment is a Korean entertainment company founded in 1989 by Lee Soo-man, a former singer and television host. The company focuses on entertainment management and record business and is expanding into TV program production.
It was founded by Park in 1997. JYP Entertainment is named after the initials of its founder’s English name, Park Jin-young. Starting with singer Jinju, the company has produced a number of the best artists, including GOD and Park Ji Yoon.
YG Entertainment is an entertainment agency founded by Yang Hyun-suk, a former member of Seo Taiji and Boys, after the group disbanded. It was founded in 1998, and since 2009, it has been strengthening its capabilities as a comprehensive entertainment company by starting to manage actors and actresses.

The company has been affiliated with JYP since its start and is strategically close to them.
