Restaurant Review : Hwaroro (화로로)

I usually meet my friends at Gangnam Station. It‘s easy to get to from anywhere, so that’s why I choose it. And when we meet in the evening, we always crave for some pork belly (Samgyupsal)!

I recommend ‘Hwaroro’ located in Yeoksam-dong in Gangnam-gu. It‘s quite spacious inside, capable of accommodating a large number of people. The system where the staff grill the meat for you over charcoal is very convenient. The side dishes like kimchi, stir-fried fernbrake, and myungyi-namul jangajji (mountain garlic pickles) are also delicious.

We ordered the set menu for the meat. It comes with two servings of fresh pork belly and pork cheek meat, and you can choose between soy paste stew with rice or kimchi stew as a side. We went for the kimchi stew, and it was spicy and tasty. They have various set menus available, including special sets and whole pork sets. We recommend it to those who are indecisive about the menu.

We also ordered seafood ramen, which had a generous portion and included squid and other seafood, making it perfect for sharing between two people.
