Seongsu-dong, Seoul, Ranks 4th in the World’s Coolest Neighborhoods

The UK magazine Time Out has selected 38 neighborhoods for this year’s “World’s Coolest Neighborhoods,” and Seongsu-dong (성수동) in Seoul has been ranked 4th. They introduced Seongu-dong as the “Brooklyn of Seoul.” 🇰🇷 Once a neglected industrial area known for leather, printing, and shoe-making, Seongsu-dong has now transformed into a vibrant hotspot. As you stroll through the neighborhood, you’ll find red brick warehouses and old factories that have been converted into trendy cafes, boutiques, and galleries, creating a captivating blend of old and new.

Time Out suggested that if you visit Seongsu-dong, you might start your day with coffee at Be Art Seongsu or Super Matcha, explore numerous vintage and second-hand shops and boutiques, enjoy lunch at Grandma Recipe Restaurant, and have tea at Magpie and Tiger. What a great route! This year’s top neighborhood is Notre-Dame-du-Mont in Marseille, France, followed by Mers Sultan in Casablanca, Morocco, in 2nd place, and Pererenan in Bali, Indonesia, in 3rd place.
