Seoul Increases Installation Rate Of Heated Chairs At Bus Stops To 82 Percent

Seoul City Has Dramatically Increased The Number Of Heated Chairs To Keep People Warm While Waiting For Buses

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it has installed 1241 additional heated chairs at bus stops this year, raising the installation rate to 81.35 percent. Heated chairs are a transportation service that provides convenience to citizens who wait for the bus in winter, and they have been well received by the public.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government Provided A Budget Of 4.5 Billion Won To All Districts

Previously, it was promoted as an independent project by each district, but this year, the Seoul Metropolitan Government provided a budget of 4.5 billion won to all districts. Currently, 3433 out of 4220 bus stops have heated chairs. Next year, the installation scope will be expanded to include bus stops in the center lane, and heated chairs will be available in most areas of Seoul. The tops of the newly installed heated chairs will feature emotional phrases and designs to cheer up and encourage Seoul citizen’s daily lives.
