When there’s a family gathering, I always recommend visiting ‘Bukakjeong.’ Eating here and then taking a drive along Bukak Skyway is a really great course. For about 40 years, they’ve been serving royal galbi and hanwoo dishes. In Korea, there aren’t many stores that have been around for 100 years, but I get the feeling that Bukakjeong will be one of them.
The main building is old, so you can feel the old atmosphere. Business has been doing well, so they’ve also added a new building. For the menu, we ordered the lunch set ‘I-dong Galbi (Grilled Beef Ribs).’ All the side dishes served with the meal are fresh and delicious, and they’ll keep bringing more for free when you finish.
After the meal, you can choose between doenjang jjigae (Soybean Paste stew) and naengmyeon (Cold noodles). Galbi dishes usually have a sweet taste, which often isn’t to my liking, but Bukakjeong’s galbi is savory and not too sweet, so I enjoyed it.
