Seoul Subway Lines 4 and 7, Which Experience High Congestion During Commuting Hours, Will Operate Additional Trains Starting From The First Train On May 1st

Seoul Metro announced that they will increase the frequency of trains on both lines by two each to alleviate congestion. With this expansion, it is expected that the maximum congestion level on Line 4 will decrease from 150.1% to 135.1%, and on Line 7 from 157% to 134.6%.

Additionally, Seoul Metro stated that they are pursuing a project to develop a system for measuring station and train congestion using AI technology, making them the first urban railway operator to do so, as part of their efforts to improve congestion levels.
