Seoul Subway Union Launches Second General Strike On November 22

The labor union of the Seoul Transportation Corporation, which operates Seoul Subway Lines 1-8, has announced a second general strike on November 22, demanding that the company withdraw its plans to reduce staffing. This is a second strike after the first one that happened on November 9 and 10. As the Seoul Subway labor union and management continue their strong confrontation, there is a growing possibility that Seoul citizens will once again experience transportation problems.

“Unlike the first strike, this second strike does not have a deadline for the end of the strike,” said an official from the the labor union of the Seoul Transportation Corporation.
