Guryong Village, once known as the last shantytown in Gangnam, Seoul, is set to be transformed into a large-scale residential complex
The Seoul Housing & Communities Corporation (SH Corporation) has announced the winning design for a housing redevelopment project comprising approximately 3,800 units. The corporation plans to complete the compensation process by July 2025 and commence full-scale construction thereafter.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government aims to accelerate the project, targeting completion by 2029.The site will feature 1,813 for-sale housing units and 1,707 rental units, with over 600 units designated for newlywed couples. Nestled at the foot of Daemosan and Guryongsan mountains, the complex will be developed as an eco-friendly residential area in harmony with nature. It will also include parks, green spaces, medical facilities, and educational institutions, providing a well-rounded living environment.
