South Korea’s First International Children’s Book Fair Will be Held in Busan

The Korean Publishers Association will hold the first ‘Busan International Children’s Book Fair‘ at BEXCO (Busan Exhibition & Convention Center) from November 28 to December 1, 2024. This book fair will feature 134 Korean children’s publishers and organizations, along with 26 publishers from 15 countries around the world.

The theme of the fair is ‘Laputa.’ ‘Laputa’ is the imaginary flying island that Gulliver visits in Gulliver‘s Travels during his third journey. It symbolizes creating a joyful space for children through their boundless imagination and hope. Approximately 400 children’s books will be exhibited in the themed exhibition.Author Baek Heena, who received the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award in 2020, will meet readers on-site, along with several picture book authors.

Admission to the book fair is free, and tickets can be obtained through pre-registration on the official website of the Busan International Children‘s Book Fair from November 1 to 27, 2024.
