South Korea’s Hallasan: ‘No Leftover Broth Campaign’ Begins

Why Is There A Lot of Ramen Broth on Hallasan?

The trend of ”certifying ramen eating at Mount Hallasan in Jeju“ on various social media platforms has led to an increase in people leaving leftover ramen broth on the mountain. To preserve the pristine environment of Mount Hallasan, Hallasan National Park has decided to launch the ”No Leftover Ramen Broth Campaign“ starting this year.

With the trend of taking photos while eating ramen on Mount Hallasan, there has been a significant increase in hikers using thermos flasks to cook and eat ramen during their climbs. However, the Hallasan National Park authorities stated, ”Although we have installed bottles for discarding broth and two food waste disposers, it’s still insufficient.“ They announced plans to conduct a campaign to shift visitors‘ awareness.

It would be great if all visitors to Mount Hallasan could protect the mountain by not leaving behind cup ramen broth or other pollutants and contribute to its preservation.
