South Korea’s Lunar New Year Traffic Congestion is Expected to Peak at 5 PM on January 24th, 2025

According to TMAP Mobility’s big data analysis, South Korea‘s Lunar New Year traffic is expected to be most congested on January 24th at 5 PM for homebound travelers and on Lunar New Year’s Day (January 29th) for return trips.

Homebound traffic congestion is expected to ease late at night on the 24th, while return traffic is predicted to be lightest in the early morning of the 30th.The Korea Transport Institute estimates that 34.84 million people will travel between January 24th and February 2nd, 2025, with a peak of 6.01 million travelers on Lunar New Year’s Day (January 29th).
