South Korea’s Ski Resorts, Phoenix Park and Yong Pyong Resort, Opened Yesterday
Phoenix Park (휘닉스파크)
Phoenix Park, operated by Phoenix Hotels & Resorts, opened its slopes at 9 a.m. on Nov. 24 to kick off the winter season
To celebrate the opening, Phoenix Park is offering two weeks of special events for guests and snowpark visitors.
Guests staying at the park will receive a complimentary all-day ski pass and access to the family playground, Snow Village. Tickets are priced based on room occupancy.
Snow Park guests will receive a 50% weekday and 40% weekend discount on both the All Day Pass Premium and Smart Pass.
Yongpyong Resort (용평리조트)
Yongpyong Resort, operated by HJ Magnolia Yongpyong Hotels & Resorts, opened two (pink and red slopes) of its 28 slopes on November 24, with the rest to follow
To celebrate the opening, the resort held an opening ceremony where employees skied down the slopes and offered ski rentals and lifts at a discounted price
For this season, Yongpyong resort plans to add 30 new snowmaking machines and reinforce LED lighting on the entire slope
FYI : The alpine skiing events at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics were held at the Rainbow Course at Yongpyong Resort.
