Following the Golden Globe Awards, Steven Yeun was named Best Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television at the 29th Critics Choice Awards, presented by North American critics for the Netflix series <BEEF>. <BEEF> won four awards, including Best Limited Series, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television.
Steven Yeun, born December 21, 1983, with the Korean name Yeon Sang-yup, is a Korean-American actor. Born in Seoul and raised by Korean parents, he immigrated to Canada at the age of five. He later moved to Michigan.
He became known worldwide for his role in <The Walking Dead>, as well as for his roles in director Bong Joon-ho’s <Okja> and director Lee Chang-dong’s <Burning>, proving to the Korean public that he could also act in Korean. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in director Lee Isaac’s <Minari>, becoming the first Asian American to be nominated in that category.
