- Uncategorized
The City of Seoul will host the second annual 2024 Seoul Hanok Week from September 27 to October 6, 2024, in the Bukchon and Seochon areas. Seoul Hanok Week is a multifaceted cultural event that offers a variety of ways to experience Seoul’s traditional hanok houses, featuring exhibitions, tours, hands-on experiences, performances, and events.
One highlight is the “Resonance of Space” exhibition, held at 10 hanok sites in Bukchon and Seochon, two of Seoul‘s most iconic hanok districts. The exhibition features works by 10 contemporary artists, designed to create an immersive experience that explores the interaction between the space and the artwork. The exhibition takes place at five locations in Bukchon and five in Seochon, including privately owned hanok like Nanhojae (난호재) and Hogyeongjae (호경재), both designated as Excellent Hanok by the city, as well as public hanok operated by Seoul. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk along the alleyways as they move from one location to the next.During Seoul Hanok Week, the exhibition is open to the public free of charge from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closed on Mondays). Visitors are welcome to explore the sites at their own pace.
