The 7 Most Visited Tourist Destinations in Korea Last Year

Everland had 5.74 million visitors last year, making it the most popular attraction for tourists, according to the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute’s Tourism Knowledge Information System.

Indoor and multi-purpose facilities have gained popularity as COVID-19 has become endemic. Outdoor tourism locations, such as natural sights, were clearly favored during the COVID-19 pandemic.

1. Everland

Theme park and resort Everland Resort is located in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. The resort began as a single theme park when it first opened in April 1976, but it eventually expanded and added water parks, hostels, speedways, golf courses, and museums.

2. KINTEX

KINTEX is a convention and exhibition center located in Goyang, Gyeonggi, South Korea.

3. Lotte World

The theme park’s official title is Lotte World Adventure. The name “Lotte World” refers to the complex that includes the theme park Lotte World Adventure as well as a hotel, ice rink, department store, and folklore museum.

4. National Museum of Korea

The main national museum of South Korea that is in Seoul’s Yongsan-gu neighborhood. With around 1.5 million objects in its collection and 10,000 on permanent exhibition, it is one of the largest museums in the world and the largest in Korea.

5. Gyeongbokgung Palace

The first of five palaces built during the Joseon Dynasty.

6. Yeosu Expo Ocean Park

Expo Ocean Park offers waterfront walking paths for strolls along the sea. In addition, visitors may take part in exciting maritime leisure sports programs or view the multimedia Show.

7. Sokcho Beach

Sokcho Beach, which opened in 1976, is one of Korea’s top beaches. The beach attracts tourists from throughout the nation every summer because of its clean waters, shallow depth, and easy slope.
