The Last Astronomical Event of the Year Will Unfold Over Two Days, on December 13th and 14th, 2024

According to the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, the Geminid meteor shower, one of the three major meteor showers, will be visible on the night of December 13th and 14th.

The Geminid meteor shower is caused by Earth passing through the debris trail left by the asteroid 3200 Phaethon, and it occurs every year in mid-December. Although the bright full moon may slightly limit visibility this year, the Geminids are known for their bright, intense colors and are expected to put on an impressive display compared to other meteor showers.
