Directed by Hur Jin-ho and starring Sol Kyung-gu, Jang Dong-gun, Kim Hee-ae, and Kim Claudia (Kim Soo-hyun), this suspense film portrays the unraveling of four individuals who, despite their own beliefs, witness a closed-circuit television (CCTV) recording of their children’s criminal activity. Director Hur Jin-ho is well-known for films such as ”Christmas in August,“ ”One Fine Spring Day,“ and ”April Snow.“
Particularly noteworthy in South Korea is Jang Dong-gun‘s return to the screen after six years since his leading role in the 2018 film ”Rampant.“ The movie is based on the best-selling Dutch novel ”Dinner“ by Herman Koch, which explores the intense conflicts faced by an ordinary middle-class family. The film has been officially invited to the 48th Toronto International Film Festival and has been featured in a total of 18 international film festivals, including the 26th Taipei Film Festival held this year.
