The Korean Gallery at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston is Reopening

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Is The First Museum In The Southwestern U.S. To Have A Dedicated Korean Gallery

It is the largest museum in the southern U.S., with a collection of over 70,000 pieces. Previously, the gallery showcased a broad overview of Korean history from ancient times to the Joseon Dynasty.

With the reopening, the focus will shift to the grandeur of the Joseon Dynasty.

Among the highlights is the “Dragon Jar,” a blue and white porcelain jar with dragon motifs, which was part of the collection of the Lee Kun-hee, former chairman of the Samsung Group. The key artifacts in the Korean Gallery will be on loan until March 2026.
