The Korean Government Will Complete The Vaccination Of All Cattle Against Lumpy Skin Disease By Nov 10

By November 1, 2023, All Local Governments Across Korea Are Expected To Be Supplied With The Rumpskin Disease Vaccine

The Rumphis Skin Disease Central Incident Response Headquarters has received an emergency supply of 4 million doses of vaccines against lumpy skin disease and will complete the vaccination of all cattle in the country by November 10, 2023.

The Government Also Announced That There Is Not Much Concern About The Supply Of Korean Beef Due To The Outbreak

The percentage of cattle slaughtered due to lumpy skin disease compared to the total domestic herd size is extremely small, less than 0.1%. Accordingly, it is hoped that all farms will be immunized by the end of November, three weeks after vaccination, and the outbreak will subside. However, until antibodies develop, there is still the potential for further outbreaks, so the government said it will tighten the reins for the remainder of the month.

As Of 2 p.m. on Oct. 29, The Total Number Of Confirmed Cases Was Reportedly 61

Previously, government agencies believed that the virus-carrying bloodsucking insects came from China by ship or air currents. In addition, the possibility of additional routes of entry through the DMZ has been raised. The government says it is currently in the hypothetical phase, analyzing the exact source of the outbreak through further epidemiological investigations.
