Korean Subtitles

The Korean Film Council (KFC) announced that it will screen the latest Korean fil ms with Korean subtitles in theaters. The first film will be director Ryu Seung-wan’s new film “Smugglers,” which releases on July 26, 2023.

On August 2, 2023, the sci-fi film The Moon,” directed by Kim Yong-hwa, will be screened with Korean subtitles.

Not just simple Korean subtitles, but Korean subtitles that display the names and speaker sounds so that deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences can watch the same movie together.

Once you purchase tickets through a ticketing application (app), online, or at the theater, you can choose to buy the “Korean subtitled” version, which is shown in a different venue than regular ones without subtitles.

Later this year, the Korean Film Council (KFC) will also introduce a service that will allow the visually impaired audiences to watch the latest movies in theaters while listening to on-screen commentary.
